NTAF Webinar:

Introducing the next generation of resource and inventory interoperability!

Tuesday, November 12, 2013, 10:00am PT/1:00pm ET.

This event is now closed.  THE RECORDING WILL BE AVAILABLE SHORTLY.

Overview:

As networks become more complex, testing of network equipment requires multiple tools. Adequate visibility into labs is crucial to ensure the most optimum and efficient utilization of resources. However, today there is no standardized way to track resource availability and inventory statuses. The Network Test Automation Forum (NTAF) addresses this precise need by introducing a set of standards around resources and inventory, motivated by the need for labs to discover resources, obtain data about their attributes, and find relevant resources for a given purpose.

This webinar will introduce and describe these two new standards. The Resource Standard helps discover all important resources in the lab, while the Inventory Standard allows inventory systems to automatically discover, track, and update data in a multi-vendor environment.

By attending this webinar you will learn how the standards will help test leaders answer questions like “what exactly is in my lab?”, “how are they connected to each other?” and “where is the specific resource that I need?"

M2M & The Internet of Things

Date: Wednesday, October 9, 2013

Time of Session: 4:15 pm – 5:00 pm

Category: Technology

Title: M2M Standardization

4:15 pm – 5:00 pm        Technology: M2M Standardization

  • Moderator: Cheryl Blum, VP, Standards & Technology, Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)
  • Keith Kidd, President, Network Test Automation Forum; Director, Verizon Maintenance Engineering Support
  • Tom Burke, President & Executive Director, OPC Foundation
  • Mihai Voicu, Chief Security Officer, ILS Technology

For years standardization has been a hot topic in the M2M community whether the question is hardware interface, software protocols, communications interfaces or the service layer. What is the role of standards in driving adoption of M2M solutions? What organizations are addressing this need? Why are there so many separate standards bodies addressing this issue and what is being done, if anything, to create a single, global standard that addresses each of these unique standards elements? How can technical standards be created which are easy to adopt for adopters whose business is not primarily telecoms or technology focused?

NTAF Webcast in Partnership with Test & Measurement World

Introducing the next generation of test automation & interoperability – the NTAF Specification

Click here to Listen to the Webcast

Overview:

As networks become more complex, testing of network equipment requires multiple tools. Automation is frequently employed as a strategy to orchestrate the diverse test environment, but to date there have been no standards for tools to work together in a coordinated solution. The Network Test Automation Forum addresses this precise need by defining a specification for how test tools communicate. This webinar introduces NTAF, explains the newly ratified specification, and walks through a use case.

By attending this webinar you will learn:

  • The purpose & mission of the Network Test Automation Forum
  • Outline of the NTAF specification
  • How the NTAF spec can be used in a practical application
Speakers include: Bruno Giguere (EXFO), Todd Law (Spirent), Kenneth Green (Ixia), Bob Ormsby (Verizon)
